The first of the series is about Chowmahalla Palace a palace dating back to the 1800’s and built in the time of Asaf Jah V under the Nizams.
How to get there
Plan your travel in your personal vehicle or public transport. The nearest Metro station is MGBS – 3.5 kms.

The Palace is divided into various parts as below:
- Southern Courtyard

- Car Museum with the vintage cars from the Nizam’s era
Chowmahalla Palace is a replica of the Shah’s palace in Tehran

Things to do
The Palace dating back to the Nizam’s era sports complex and architecture which are elegant, well preserved.
A delight to explore as you walk by admiring the beauty.
Going through the entire palace and different sections would take a good amount of 3-4 hours of your time.
My Recommendation
First, Start with the Chowmahalla palace and plan to reach the place around 2pm.
Second, in your plan would be Charminar which is roughly around 3 kms from the palace for a wonderful sunset view.
Spending time enjoying a lovely sunset at Charminar sipping in the wonderful Chai from Nimrah Cafe is a wonderful experience.

Third, Sonu Kebabs at Hussaini Alam is a must visit for their wonderful kebabs.
End your day with Hyderabad’s signature dish – Hyderabad Dum Biryani at Shadab or Shah Gouse.
Until my next post in “Hyderabad Family Outing Series”, this is Srikanth signing off!

One of the most beautiful palaces I’ve seen. And a visit is incomplete without Nimrah!
I have been to this place recently and it is amazing. The pics in your write up do justice to the actual ones. nice one.
I want to visit Hyderabad, hopefully soon. This post will be helpful and will visit Chowmahalla Palace.
